The Lu Ban Lock, also known as the Kongming Lock or Bagua Lock in folklore, is said to have originated from a legend. In the Spring and Autumn Period, Lu Ban, a craftsman from the State of Lu, made a detachable toy using six wooden strips to test his son's intelligence. He asked his son to disassemble it, and after a busy night, the son finally succeeded. This toy came to be known as the Lu Ban Lock. However, this is just a legend. The Lu Ban Lock, also known as the Kongming Lock, Bie Men Gun, Liu Zi Lian Fang, Mo Nai He, Nan Ren Mu, etc., originated from the mortise and tenon structure first pioneered in ancient Chinese architecture。
